Recloose track & a walrus that is all dressed up

I look at this and can't decide whether I want to laugh or cringe.

House music from New Zealand via Detroit. I heard this on Beats In Space last week and it's stuck with me all week. It's no secret I'm kind of a sucker for a good vocal hook so I'm a fan of this one. Besides the obvious I like the super clean, precision to this track. I feel like it's made out of that brushed metal that is super slick and easy to slip on. Or slippery like a baby seal.  To be honest, they played a Carl Craig edit of this track on Beats In Space and that was also the shit.  Internet - Where the hell is that??!?!! I can find literally a million different videos of cats falling off of things but I can't find that one track? Jesus, what has this civilization come to.? Seriously.

I'm thinking about buying a fake German passport with a made-up name and date of birth on it. I'm going to start only talking in German and I'm going to go around to clubs and ask them in broken English if they will let me start playing there. And then I'll spend the summers in Tokyo and do the same thing there. I see no reason why this plan won't work.

To conclude, the first person who finds the Carl Craig edit of this track for me wins. They win something, I don't know what, maybe a kiss. A kiss from that guy in the picture. Get on it!

New Shlohmo track and directions on how to make pork cones

Putting animal heads on people in photos from the Edwardian age will never get old to me. Never.

A little chilled out glitchy tiddy for your Sunday. Are Sunday turning into a white person thing? Or do white people just do very specific things on Sundays that normally involve reading such things as the New York Times or Vanity Fair? For the record, I haven't read either of those fine rags yet today.

Things I've eaten in the last 24 hours:

1. A bagel with butter.
2. A Pork cone.

Yes, a pork cone. You want one? Here is you get your grubby little hands on your own pork cone. Step 1 - make a cone out of focaccia bread. Step 2 - acquire a massive quantity of pulled pork. Preferably from here. Step 3 - insert said pork into focaccia cone. Repeat until pork cone coma sets in.

Just, be careful. This isn't amateur hour people, we are talking about pork cones here. Tread lightly.

Masters At Work - The Nervous Track

When ever anyone tells me a track has some sort of Latin sound to it I have a knee jerk reaction to immediately hate it. I don't know what it is, I clearly need some sort of cultural training to beat this out of me but I can't help it. I also know I'm not the only one with this problem so before you judge just think about all the times you've been in a store and heard Carlos Santana and wanted to punch somebody.

I think I clearly have some world music issues I need to work out. It isn't just Latin music either. You know who is to blame for all this? Yanni. I lay this all at his feet. Growing up, no one my age liked Yanni. You would have been laughed out of Litchfield Middle School if you would of reveled that information. I don't hate the dude. I kind of liked him back then. Everything was Greenday and Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Three bands by the way that to this day I don't own a single album from now. I forced myself to conform and now what? I hate world music because I associate it with a dude blessed with wild flowing locks who happened to play his dreamy ambient music at the Acropolis and people ate it up with a spoon. It's probably not his fault but I'm going to blame him anyways.

Kai Alce - Dirty South Dirt (Anticipation Dub)

This one is over before it even starts. I'm getting way to use to tracks being 6+ mins in length so when I find a short track that I'm in love with I will listen to it a good four or five times in a row. Sometimes the shorter tracks are even more fun. The parts that you love hit quicker, it is a little bit more of an active listening experience, and you are force to suck the joy out of every little nuance more because it is all passing by so quickly.

Kai Alce is wayyyyyy into the beat on this one. Besides the weird, disjointed chords you get repeating through out most of the action is on the groove end. Some almost analog sounding hi-hats brought up to the front with this muffled snare riding right along next to it. Just the right size dollop of bass mixed in for shits and giggles - it's all so very groove based but not at the expense of having any soul.

Also, it came out on FXHE last year so this is just another reason to post something that has Omar's' finger print on it.

The Dead Rose Music Company - Come Closer

Sometimes you just gotta stop what you are doing, walk out of the room, and go have a beer. All that shit, all that work and stress, that stuff is not going anywhere. Most likely none of it is going to grow legs and walk away. Even if in some instances that would be the preferred, that isn't going to happen. It's all going to be there in the morning. Sadly, yes. In the meantime drink that beer. Listen to some music.

Here is some random deep house for said beer. The Dead Rose Music Company is a great name. I know nothing about these guys except that this has one of those laid back, summer time grooves that you could just get lost in. Before you know it you got your head bopping along to the beat and you are thinking about sun, patios, and sitting outside. It's a summer tease for your ears.
